Best ARAM champions in LoL Patch 14.16

Win more on the Abyss with these five powerhouses.

Deep down, every League of Legends player wants to win (yes, even that top laner who first-timed Teemo in your promos once) and that includes those diving into some relaxing ARAM matches—and that means playing the best picks.

While Summoner’s Rift has its standout regulars each update, as does League’s new Arena mode, the ARAM metagame can be a little more volatile, especially when Riot Games’ balance team keeps working hard to make the all-round, all-mid mode as fair as possible with buffs, nerfs, and major changes.

Because of this, even the smallest of changes can shift the dynamic of our favorite champions).

So, we’ve analyzed all the best champs with the highest win rates in ARAM across all major regions—with a little help from League stats site U.GG—to give you the best chance to conquer the Abyss.

Best LoL ARAM champions in Patch 14.16

Lux

Lux is an oppressive force in ARAM this patch, particularly with her best ARAM build, which has resulted in a 53.24 percent win rate across 58,397 games. One of the best things about Lux is her bind, which can be useful in locking down enemy champions hiding in the brush, for when your tanks want to tower dive, and as an engage tool for your team to go all in. Plus, even if you’ve never picked up this champ, she’s easy to play, so it won’t take you long to get a hang of her kit and destroy your enemies.

Jhin

There are quite a few AD carries on this list, but Jhin stands out as one of the best to pick up in ARAM in League Patch 14.16 because he’s winning 52.10 percent of games with his best ARAM build, which focuses on the critical strike damage and critical strike chance. So, if you have a chance to pick up Jhin, do it.

Morgana

With a 53.57 percent win rate across 56,076 games, Morgana is a force to be reckoned on the Howling Abyss. Like Lux, Morgana’s bind is the star of the show, and when combined with Tormented Shadow (W) and Liandry’s Torment, your enemies become stuck in a fiery pool as their health whittles away. It’s a lot of fun—which is why if you can play Morgana, be sure to use her best ARAM build for a better chance of winning.

Veigar

There is nothing more annoying than a Veigar in ARAM; his cage takes up a good portion of the lane, and if he gets enough stacks, his Baleful Strike (Q) can obliterate you in one shot. So, if you know how to play Veigar and he’s free, grab him and use his best ARAM build because he currently has a 53.05 percent win rate.

Brand

Like Veigar, Brand is also one of those champions you just don’t want to see in ARAM because if he can inflict Ablaze and land Pyroclasm, it’s almost instant death for squishy champions. Seeing as his best build has a 52.98 percent win rate, he’s worth grabbing.

Honorable Mentions

While they may not be the very best characters in the single-lane mode, there are four or five other League champions I’d also recommend locking in in ARAM if you see the dice roll throw them your way in the lobby:

  • Caitlyn (51.38 percent win rate)
  • Miss Fortune (50.87 percent win rate)
  • Ezreal (50.39 percent win rate)
  • Ahri (52.04 percent win rate)

We will make sure this ARAM tier list is updated every League patch.
