Diablo 4 Tormented Bosses: How to summon, difficulty, and loot

Are you ready for danger?

Every endgame boss in Diablo 4 has an upgraded Tormented version you can summon only in World Tier Four. They’re quite similar to their normal counterparts, but Tormented bosses are more challenging to defeat—and the loot’s way better.

Here’s what you need to know about these Tormented Bosses in Diablo 4.

How to summon Tormented bosses in Diablo 4

The six Tormented bosses in Diablo 4 can only be summoned in their respective World Tier Four dungeons. They require the same summoning materials as their normal counterparts, just more of them, as well as one Stygian stone. All Tormented bosses and their locations and summoning materials can be found in the table below.

The Tormented bosses in Diablo 4 are much stronger versions of their normal counterparts, meaning they have higher health pools, and their attacks deal greater damage, mainly because they’re level 200.

This means to beat them, you’ll need to have the best endgame builds, including maxed paragon boards and glyphs. If you’re not sure which build to pick, try guides from WoWhead, Icy Veins, or Maxroll and give them a spin if you’re struggling.

In terms of mechanics, each boss has the same as their normal lookalikes, so you don’t really have to learn anything new. It’s just that their health and damage are significantly buffed, so survivability (and dodging) are key to beating them. And if you’re having trouble, we have the following Diablo 4 boss guides:

Tormented bosses drop the same loot as normal bosses but you’ll get five times the amount when you beat them. Unlike with the Normal boss loot, you’re guaranteed to get item level 925 gear from Tormented bosses, and you have a 7.5 percent chance of getting Mythic gear from all Tormented bosses.

The best item you’ll get from your very first Tormented boss kill each season is a Resplendent Spark, which you can transmute at an Alchemist to create new Mythic gear. You need four of these to craft a Mythic item. You can also get more Resplendent Sparks by salvaging your unwanted Mythic items, opening the Mother’s Gift Reputation rank 20 cache in season five, or by killing Uber Lilith.

If you’re feeling ready to take on these Tormented bosses in Diablo 4, they’re definitely worthwhile, particularly if you’re target farming or want Mythic uniques.
