Larian Studios, the developers behind Baldur’s Gate 3, have released some mind-boggling romance statistics to celebrate the game’s anniversary—revealing just how frisky the player base can get.
On top of a large-scale fantasy story, BG3 features many different romance options with steamy sex scenes, as well as some monstrous one-night stands. While a third of players having sex with Halsin in bear form may pique your interest, the developers’ statistics showed that even more were interested in the Emperor’s sweet, sweet tentacles.
The Emperor, an extremely powerful Mind Flayer, interacts with your character throughout all acts of the story. As you head into the finale of the game, there is a chance to earn the Mind Blown achievement by having sex with the Emperor in his true squid-like form.
Judging from the statistics, 1.1 million players were willing to risk it all for a chance with this Mind Flayer, and over 400,000 of those hopeful romantics wanted to take him tentacles and all. These high numbers trump the other shocking sex scene at the end of the story, where players can have sex with a druid named Halsin while he quite literally transforms into a bear.
It seems like animal lovers have finally met their match, since only about 200,000 players were daring enough to face off with the bear. The developers also revealed some more light-hearted statistics, such as Shadowheart receiving 27 million kisses, while Minthara sits dead last with just over 169,000.
Fans of BG3 were quick to celebrate these steamy statistics, with one player jokingly calling the 63 percent of players who had sex with the human form of the Emperor “cowards.” Others are joining in on the fun, recounting how they needed “brain bleach” after witnessing both the bear and tentacle sex scenes.
Overall, BG3 fans everywhere are pleased with the game’s success, and are looking forward to another year of challenging combat, interesting dialogue, and some incredibly compelling coitus.
