At the 2024 World Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii, the Pokémon community not only got to compete against the best players in the world but also indulge in all things Pokémon across the big franchise. One of the many things fans could do at the convention center was get a sneak peek at TCG Pocket gameplay, and it looks fire as a brand new way to enjoy collecting cards.

As Worlds was wrapping up, there was a short teaser for TCG Pocket along with a handful of other big announcements during the closing ceremony for different Pokémon games. In the new trailer also shared on X (formerly Twitter), it was revealed the TCG game will be released on Wednesday, Oct. 30—just one day before Halloween. So, mark your calendars for spooky season and a new handheld Pokémon game.

If you’re extra hyped for the impending mobile game, you can already preregister on iOS and Android devices so you won’t miss out when it officially releases.

TCG Pocket promises to have “immersive cards” as well as “nostalgic artwork from the past,” according to the official website. Like physical trading cards, the mobile game allows players to open booster packs and trade with fellow collectors.

TCG Pocket’s release is still over two months away right now, so eager Pokémon fans will have to wait a little longer. That said, based on all the previews we’ve seen it’s looking like it’ll be worth the wait, as nearly all Pokémon games are. Perhaps between now and then, we’ll get more details or trailers, so keep an eye out for that info.
