When (and where) will Dr Disrespect return to streaming?

Two months out from Dr Disrespect admitting he sent messages “in the direction of being inappropriate” to a minor in private Twitch channels, the disgraced streamer appears to be plotting an attempted comeback.

This planned return, which was first teased by the 42-year-old with a mysterious chess image in early August and then solidified with a firmer declaration on Aug. 14, has raised plenty of questions, not least regarding where he’ll actually be broadcasting from whenever he does go live again, and when he plans to come back.

Dr Disrespect streaming return date

The only firm plan Dr Disrespect has in regards to a streaming comeback right now is that he’ll be “back soon,” with the temporarily absent streaming star suggesting he was on his way back through a surprise post on Aug. 14.

“Vacation is just too good right now… We’ll be back soon though Champs. We have lots to talk about,” the streamer wrote on X (formerly Twitter) after three weeks silence.

Though he failed to include a date in the not-so-well-received tease, Dr Disrespect seems to be right on the cusp of attempting a return. This suggests he could go live somewhere as soon as the end of August, though it’s more likely we see him broadcasting again sometime through September at the earliest.

Dot Esports has reached out to Dr Disrespect’s team regarding possible return dates but at the time of writing they’ve not responded to any messages.

Where will Dr Disrespect stream?

The disgraced content creator has yet to confirm where he’ll be staging his big comeback, though there’s a few platforms we can rule, including Twitch.

There’s basically no chance Dr Disrespect will ever appear on Twitch again, with his ban on the Amazon-owned website remaining as permanent as its ever been. He was, it’s now been confirmed, banned there for messaging a minor.

Signs would have originally pointed to the streamer returning to YouTube, where he boasts over 4.6 million followers and regularly earned as many as a million views per livestream. That now appears very unlikely, with the Google video service quickly disabling his monetization in the wake of the star’s now-deleted apology. Without a way to earn money, Dr Disrespect may not return there; don’t rule YouTube out though.

The most likely of the modern big three is Kick, with the newcomer streaming platform choosing not to pre-emptively ban the 42-year-old when everything originally spilled out online in June. There were calls for them to block him before he had a chance to move there but Kick’s broadcasting bosses held fire.

At the time of writing, however, Dr Disrespect hasn’t pointed any way yet. Only time will tell where he stages his big comeback—and how it’s actually received.
